Melrose Caverns

Melrose Caverns

Yesterday we went to Melrose Caverns. It is an old cave that Union soldiers hid in during the Civil War. The cave was entered by the soldiers using a hole in the ground and passageways. Back in the 1920s, Endless Caverns blasted back in to it and gave tours. They closed for tours in the 1960s. They reopened back in 2015 as a wedding venue and in 2021 they opened the cave back up for tours. Here is a link to Melrose’s website.

This was the view out towards the mountains.
They call this face Fred.
This was the cool vault door covering the end of the cave.
